He appeared to be doing better after his dialysis and heavy infusion of medications and fluids. I've heard one day that he's better and the next that there's little that can be done. At one time, there was talk about using a VAD. I am not sure that's an option anymore. My brother won't except a blood transfusion for religious reasons. I was told that MUSC won't perform a VAD placement without blood supplements. I don't know this for a fact. My has received good care at PH and MUSC.
